Job Title: Apprentice Domestic Gas Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team at Ignite Recruitment Services. As a key member of our heating maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service to domestic heating installations and appliances in client properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Service, repair, maintain, and install gas appliances in client-owned properties, adhering to manufacturer's instructions and guidelines.
  2. Diagnose and repair modern and traditional boilers, as well as central heating systems, including fitting new pumps, motorized valves, radiators, and adapting pipework as necessary.
  3. Perform power flushing of heating systems.
  4. Ensure the security and correct operation of plant and equipment supplied, including vehicles, flue gas analysis meters, and mobile data equipment.
  5. Complete certification and documentation accurately, adhering to Data Protection and Information Security regulations.
  6. Monitor first-time fix and call-back rates to ensure standards and service levels are maintained.
  7. Utilize high-level literacy and numeracy skills to complete gas work calculations and disseminate manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Apply logical and methodical problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay focused and follow through to a satisfactory outcome.
  9. Provide excellent customer care, dealing with potentially angry or upset individuals, and coping with the emotional demands of such situations.
  10. Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently, showing initiative in dealing with situations and completing tasks.
  11. Effectively communicate with customers to explain the correct operation of gas appliances and the importance of regular servicing.
  12. Work to deadlines and timescales, liaising with managers and customers regarding changes to schedules or appointments.
  13. Be willing and able to work with and train apprentices or other personnel as required.
Qualifications:

ACS qualifications - minimum of CCN1, CEN1, WAT1, (CENWAT), CKR1, HTR1 & CPA1, Energy Efficiency, DAH1, Unvented Hot Water, WRAS (water supply regulations 1999).

Health & Safety:

Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training - Essential.
