Social Work Manager – Practice Lead

We are seeking an experienced social worker to take on the role of Practice Lead and play a vital part in a charity dedicated to supporting young people leaving care.
The charity provides support and expertise to local authorities across the country to establish and manage Local House Projects (LHPs), enabling young people to transition to adulthood in a planned and supported manner.
About the Job:
As Practice Lead, you will be responsible for supporting LHPs in The Midlands, while also contributing to other areas of work. You will work closely with staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people can thrive and develop the skills needed for a successful transition to adulthood.
You will collaborate with the Care Leavers National Movement and the core team to ensure that young people remain at the heart of all decisions affecting their future.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of care-experienced young people. You will need to have a strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and social pedagogical approaches.
You should have experience working in a local authority social work team and managing and supervising staff. A Social Work qualification is essential for this role.
About the Organisation:
The charity was established in 2018 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). We support local authorities in setting up Local House Projects for young people leaving care, empowering them to create and sustain homes.
Our initiative, co-designed with young people, aims to provide a supportive community for care leavers to transition into permanent tenancies. We have helped over 450 young people successfully move into their own homes, with no evictions or tenancy breakdowns.
This role has become available due to the growth of the charity.

We offer a permanent, full-time contract with a competitive salary and benefits package, including 31 days annual leave, 10% contribution to pension, and hybrid working arrangements.
