Job Title: Engineering Procurement and Stock Controller

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as an Engineering Procurement and Stock Controller at our site in Middlesbrough – Southbank.

About the Role:

As an Engineering Procurement and Stock Controller, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring that stock is correctly booked out and recorded.

You will also be responsible for communicating directly with engineers to understand their requirements, attending regular meetings with the management team and finance department, and recording spend and producing reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accepting deliveries to the engineering department and booking in stock.
  • Responsible for GMP, health and safety, and general standards within Stores.
  • Monitoring of stock levels using the CMMS system, ensuring that stock levels are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Ability to react to unexpected events such as equipment breakdowns to source stock under time-critical constraints.
  • Communicate directly with engineers to understand their requirements.
  • Attendance to regular meetings with the management team and finance department.
  • Recording of spend and producing reports detailing spend vs budget.
  • Auditing of stores to ensure that stock is correctly booked out and recorded.
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Plan, design, and implement upgrades to the current stock control methods to improve department performance.
Requirements:
  • Experience using CMMS system.
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret data from Excel and present findings.
Desirable Experience:
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • IOSH Qualification.
  • Ability to interpret Technical Drawings.
