Job Title: Supply Chain Manufacturing Process Specialist

Estimated Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, based on location and experience.

This role involves supporting the development, onboarding, and growth of suppliers as Moog strategically increases its parts purchases from external supply chain partners. The goal is to ensure stable and capable manufacturing processes are in place for product delivery at customer demand rates.

The successful candidate will have a background working in a Manufacturing Engineering role, ideally with experience of both internal manufacturing and manufacturing in a supply chain environment. They should possess a broad understanding of manufacturing methods to quickly establish technical credibility across various machining processes such as milling, turning, grinding, assembly, and special processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to suppliers in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes.
  2. Support cross-functional supplier management teams as the subject matter expert and focal point for manufacturing capability issues.
  3. Understand part design intent and facilitate DfX activities when required to help suppliers understand requirements flow-down and producibility risks.
  4. Assess manufacturing capability during new supplier selection or existing supplier gap analysis.
  5. Communicate supplier Manufacturing Engineering issues across engineering, commodity, and quality teams.

Special Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline (engineering/manufacturing) and a minimum of 8 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role. Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is essential, along with strong data-driven decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Accomplished manufacturing capability assessment and experience with core defect prevention tools (PFMEA, control plan, MSA, capability analysis, error proofing) are highly advantageous.
