We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial statements, and providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities- Bookkeeping and Financial Management
- Manage bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage Line 50, as well as other client software packages on an ad-hoc basis.
- Perform bank, cash, payroll, sales, and purchase ledger input and reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and file VAT returns and possess a good understanding of VAT principles.
- Compile periodic management accounts, including trial balances, cash flow statements, and other client-specific reports.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements to trial balance stage, computing accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.
- Client Service and Support
- Handle multiple clients' affairs, ensuring adherence to client and statutory deadlines.
- Liaise with clients regularly to obtain books and records and resolve any queries or issues.
- Provide support to team members and other departments within the firm.
- Administrative Tasks
- Undertake other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
- Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly MS Excel & MS Outlook) and bookkeeping software.
- Proactive approach to work and meeting the requirements of the firm.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff and clients.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and control own workload, adhering to deadlines with discretion.
