FearFree is a leading organisation delivering vital services across the Southwest to support victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience FearFree's commitment to responsive, victim-focused, and trauma-informed support.
This position will encompass responsibilities including service promotion, awareness raising, triage, assessments, and 1-2-1 outreach support across the county's districts. Collaboration with other agencies is also essential to ensure a coordinated community response approach supports individuals affected by domestic abuse.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by domestic abuse. Key duties include identifying and assessing risks and needs of individuals who are abusive in a relationship or domestic setting, using evidence-based risk identification checklists.
Additional responsibilities include participating in casework meetings, sharing information with colleagues, and co-facilitating an accredited group programme one evening a week. The ideal candidate will be proactive in carrying out regular case reviews based on risk and abuse assessments.
Maintaining accurate and confidential case management records and safety plans is crucial. The selected individual will respect and value diversity within the community, recognising the needs and concerns of various groups to ensure accessibility.
Staying updated on organisational procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct is vital. High standards of service delivery will be ensured through evaluation and monitoring systems, such as the Orchard Database.
A flexible model of 1-2-1 work will be implemented, with the ability to evaluate interventions and design new ones as necessary. Compliance with data protection legislation, confidentiality, and information sharing policies is mandatory.
This role requires effective team working with a flexible and proactive approach, including cover for holidays and sickness. Undertaking agreed training and staying updated on changes in legislation, policy, and best practice is essential.
Engagement in supervision, annual appraisal, and induction training is also required. Cooperation with management in implementing and adhering to health and safety policy and procedures is necessary.
FearFree offers a competitive salary, commensurate with the location and industry standards, which we estimate to be around £28,000-£32,000 per annum.
We strive to maintain an inclusive and diverse workplace environment where everyone feels valued and respected. If you are passionate about supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, please consider joining our team.
