Job Overview

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team. As a valued member of the staff, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a state-of-the-art resource base.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with an estimated salary of £28,000-£35,000 per annum.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting young adults with Autism, Complex needs, or other SEND. You will work closely with the teaching team to develop skills across the students' individual curriculum, including Independence, Communication, Social and Emotional development, Sensory and Physical, and Cognition.

  • You will provide one-to-one and small group support to learners across different classrooms, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs and interests of each child.
  • You will work within an adapted space that includes a therapy room, sensory room, and bespoke outdoor provision, as well as going out in the community on trips and projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting young adults with SEND, particularly those with Autism or Complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability, patience, and a passion for working with teenagers and young adults with SEND needs and disabilities.
