Fostering and Adoption Practitioner Job Summary:
Entrust Social Care Ltd's Children's Fostering Team in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Fostering and Adoption Practitioner to join their team. This is a temporary contract for 3 months with a start date subject to DBS and reference clearance. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to ensure the safety of children under the supervision of a supportive Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children with an adoption or long-term fostering plan.
  • Determine the necessary qualities and capacities of permanent families.
  • Lead on the matching report and support plan, presenting to panel for approval, coordinating child preparation, and planning transitions.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of child development, the effects of early childhood abuse and neglect, and signs of developmental trauma.
  • Assess children's current and future needs, parenting capacities, and provide support.
  • Manage children's care plans, present to panels, respond to court directions, and produce child-centred reports in a timely manner.
  • Advise and guide the team on permanency processes and overcoming barriers to progress.
  • Evaluate the value base of adopters or foster carers without prejudice.
  • Work 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
