Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Analyst to join our team at Abacus Professional Recruitment. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing and processing invoices, managing client billing information, and resolving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Preparation: Prepare invoices in accordance with firm billing policies, guidelines, and standard processes.
  • Client Billing Management: Maintain and update client billing information, instructions, and requirements necessary for processing invoices.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues, consulting with others as appropriate and escalating issues to management on a timely basis.
  • Financial Analysis: Evaluate complex situations using multiple sources of information, exercising good analytical skills and judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated and/or novel situations.
  • Decision Making: Work independently to complete assigned tasks and work responsibilities to meet agreed objectives, considering the impact of recommendations when making decisions or resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, finance, liberal arts, or related courses.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a billing role, with a general understanding of accounting or finance principles and the specific law firm or professional service accounting structure, environment, and requirements.
  • Skills: Knowledge and experience of financial systems (SAP preferred but not required), good working knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook), and skills in credit control and billing revenue.
