About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Independent Trustee to join our team at the Police Federation of England and Wales. As a key member of our governance structure, you will play a vital role in advising and supporting our National Board and senior leadership team on financial governance decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Governance: Ensure that financial decisions are made in accordance with the Trust Deeds, Regulations, and Fund Rules.
  • Advisory Role: Provide guidance and support to the National Board and senior leadership team on financial governance matters.
  • Committee Membership: Sit on the Finance Committee and National Reserve Fund Committee, as specified in the terms of reference.
  • Reporting and Communication: Meet with the CEO bi-monthly to receive briefings on critical decisions and risks, and provide regular updates on your activities as a Trustee.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrate extensive experience in finance, with a leadership or executive level capacity.
  • Complex Stakeholder Environment: Show previous experience of working in a complex stakeholder environment and governance procedures.
  • Non-Executive Experience: It would be advantageous to have previous experience of working as a Non-Executive for a non-profit or public sector organisation.
