About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer to join our Commodity team at SPTS Technologies Limited. As a key member of our Operations group, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our world-leading wafer handling and process systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, ensuring direct spend cost reduction targets are met year on year.
  • Build a robust and agile supply chain that supports the continued growth plans of SPTS, ensuring supply continuity as business demand fluctuates.
  • Identify synergy opportunities within the group supply chain, creating regional sourcing models and selecting relevant suppliers.
  • Owning the lifecycle from demand to pay, ensuring smooth handovers of suppliers, products, and agreements to the tactical purchasing team.
  • Tracking and improving KPIs aligned to internal and external customer requirements, using analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conducting supplier visits to audit capabilities, capacities, and process controls within the UK and abroad.

Requirements

  • A strong negotiator with a proven background in category management.
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain strategic management.
  • In-depth understanding of supply processes to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, with experience of SAP and Enovia (PLM) systems advantageous.
  • Target-driven and proactive, with a desire to grow this role and support the development of a Commodity Team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team or individually to achieve departmental goals.
  • A self-starter who can meet diverse challenges efficiently and effectively, striving for excellence in project delivery.
