You will be a vital part of our crew, learning under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers about the maintenance of our Baader fish processing machinery and all fish processing equipment onboard our modern fleet of deep-sea factory trawlers.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Baader Technician with repairing and maintaining the mechanical systems of the Baader fish processing machines.
- Complete daily job tasks to ensure the factory is kept running at optimal levels.
- Gain an understanding of the adjustments required to ensure that the desired conversion factors are being successfully achieved.
- Work towards gaining a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Seafood Processing – Factory Trawler Technician over an 18-24 month period, with full training and on-the-job support.
- Mechanical/Electrical Trade certified experience is preferred.
- Experience in stainless steel TIG welding, basic hydraulics, and pneumatics is preferred but training can be given.
- Problem-solving skills and a “can do” attitude.
- Motivated and energetic team players who get on well with others, with a proven work history.
- A pre-employment medical, including dental, will be required.
- Proof of New Zealand citizenship, permanent residence, or currently residing in New Zealand with a visa enabling you to work for a minimum of two years.
