Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in the UK.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering successful construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing cost estimation, procurement, and contract negotiation, ensuring project financial efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Management: Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, conducting cost analysis and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, monitoring and managing project cash flows and budgets.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant construction regulations and legislation.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project targets are met.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices, proficiency in cost management software and financial reporting tools, excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Development: Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
