As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.
About the RoleThis is a substantive and full-time post, with the option to work part-time or on a fixed-term basis. You will be based at the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle, a 12-bedded acute mental health inpatient unit. The successful candidate will have their own office space and will be supported by an experienced medical assistant.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of healthcare professionals in the delivery of care to patients with complex mental health needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide high-quality clinical supervision and education to junior staff members.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.
The ideal candidate will have:
- MBBS (or equivalent) and MRCPsych (or equivalent) qualifications.
- Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (Old Age Psychiatry) or within six months of CCT.
- Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Approved Clinician Status.
- Registration with the GMC (or eligible to become registered) with a licence to practice.
