Art Director, FT Weekend Magazine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Art Director to join our team at the FT Weekend Magazine. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for driving the creative direction of the magazine, both in print and online.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a compelling visual strategy for the magazine, aligning with the FT's brand and editorial vision.
- Lead a team of designers, including freelancers, to deliver high-quality design solutions for the magazine.
- Collaborate closely with editors, photographers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of design projects.
- Conceptualize and execute innovative cover designs, features, and special projects that showcase the magazine's unique perspective.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of contributors, including photographers, illustrators, and writers, to support the magazine's creative vision.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive design excellence and innovation.
- Proven experience as an Art Director or Creative Director in a magazine or publishing environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles, from conceptual to execution.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including editors, photographers, and writers.
- Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and composition.
- Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
