Apprentice Systems Engineer Role

About Pearson

As a Systems Engineer Apprentice, you will be at the center of our efforts, supporting the development of assessment practice and contributing to the recruitment and training of new assessors. Our goal is to ensure that apprentices meet the rigorous standards set by employers and are fully competent in their occupation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support assessors in developing assessment practice through standardization activities and sharing best practices.
  2. Undertake remote sampling of assessors' assessments and provide advice and guidance on the use of electronic systems.
  3. Contribute to ongoing analysis, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.
  4. Maintain accurate records to withstand internal and external audits.
  5. Take an active role in your professional development and adhere to Pearson and regulatory policies.
  6. Produce a quarterly report on feedback from team leaders, internal quality assurers, and assessors to identify trends.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience in the occupation or sector, gained in the last three years, or significant experience with evidence of continued professional development.
  2. Hold an internal quality assurance qualification for a minimum of three years.
  3. Experience in supporting and managing teams of assessors.

Desirable Background:

  1. Current DBS and sufficient technical knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, and recording tools.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson software and a secure email account.
  2. Be based in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, or the Isle of Man.
