We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team at eastgrinsteadcourier on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, including accounts, PCN finance, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:- Accounts: Ensure complex monthly recharges are actioned, plan workload to meet deadlines, and carry out checks for accuracy.
- Support the Finance Manager: Assist with monthly management accounts, identify variations in service line budgets, and highlight to relevant managers to rectify.
- Bank Statement Reconciliation: Assist with bank statement reconciliation and add appropriate invoices to trade-shift.
- Fixed Asset List: Maintain the fixed asset list and prepayments, ensuring balances with Sage.
- ICB Liaison: Liaise with ICB to identify and resolve finance queries in a timely manner.
- VAT Tracking: Track and monitor income eligible for VAT, notifying the Finance Manager when the organisation reaches the threshold.
- Statutory Accounts: Assist the Finance Manager with providing information for the statutory accounts.
- Query Resolution: Investigate and resolve difficult queries from staff, customers, and suppliers relating to late or non-payment, discrepancies, payment analysis, and receipt of goods.
- Invoice Processing: Crosscheck and process invoices in line with contracts, ensuring accurate coding and authorisation by the correct person in line with finance policy.
- Reporting: Support the Finance Manager with the collation of data for reporting.
- Surveys and Audits: Undertake and provide support to surveys and audits as required.
- Finance Policies: Support and contribute to the updating of finance policies as required.
- Raise Invoices: Raise invoices to the appropriate PCNs, ensuring accrual.
- ARRS Claims: Submit ARRS claims onto the portal for PCN employed staff where appropriate.
- Account Management: Manage the accounts for the PCNs, undertaking bank reconciliation and ensuring payments are made and received as appropriate.
- Budget Development: Support Finance Manager in the development of budgets, collating as required.
- Enquiry Response: Respond to enquiries from budget holders and managers, assisting them with all finance issues.
Requirements:
- AAT Level 4 or working towards.
- Appropriate demonstrable experience in a Finance setting.
- Knowledge of Management Accounting.
- Experience using SAGE software.
- Advanced understanding of Excel.
- Understanding of accounting procedures.
