ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

TYPE: Permanent

LOCATION: UK

SALARY: £30,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience

Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in the UK on a permanent basis. Our client designs and manufactures innovative robotic products and solutions.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a strong interest in robotics and automation
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar mechanical design engineering position
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experienced with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of various materials, including sheet metal and injection-molded plastics
  • Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge, including core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotic products using SolidWorks
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure efficient production
  • Contribute to the final assembly of products
  • Create technical documentation and project reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings
  • Input parts into the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
  • Verify drawings for sign-off
  • Collaborate with a small team on various projects
