An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical nurse specialist to join our team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of skill, dedication, and compassion.

The successful candidate will be working in an acute care setting, covering both the SDEC and MDU units. Within SDEC, the post holder will participate in the rapid clinical assessment of medical patients, helping to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate care to minimize waits, delays, and preventable admissions.

The Medical Day Unit (MDU) is a nurse-led unit that provides medical infusions, investigations, and procedures to elective patients from various medical specialties. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, assessment abilities, and experience in acute medicine.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely record-keeping of patient care.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Evaluation of clinical care and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Development and implementation of action plans to address deficiencies in clinical care.
  • Maintenance of a portfolio of evidence showcasing clinical skills, competency-based assessments, and theoretical knowledge.
  • Liaising with various staff members to ensure high-quality patient care.
