Graduate SEN Support Opportunity

Dunbar Education invites applications from recent graduates interested in working with students who require additional support. As a SEN support assistant, you will work in a supportive team environment, providing individualized support to students with special educational needs.

About the Role:

As a SEN support assistant, you will assist the class teacher in delivering adapted lessons and implementing behavior management strategies. You will also contribute to creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing individualized support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Working with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of pupils with Autism
  • Enhancing social, emotional, and academic development through targeted support
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Reporting and tracking student progress to teaching staff
Requirements:
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field (Desirable)
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs, particularly Autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to challenging situations
  • Previous experience in an SEN environment (either voluntary or paid) is advantageous but not essential
