A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the Community Learning Disability Team.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will provide assessment, diagnosis, and develop bespoke therapy for a caseload of service users with a learning disability and complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centered principles.
You will be joining a small but tenacious Multi-Disciplinary team who are committed to ensuring that the physical and mental health, communication, and occupational needs of individuals with a learning disability are equitably met.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centered principles.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services.
- Provide outcomes for the service and service users by using agreed tools and assessments.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service.
- Ensure OT provision is delivered in accordance with HCPC and College of Occupational Therapy (COT) requirements.
- Provide leadership for junior staff.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, postgraduate training in a relevant field, and HCPC registration.
They will also have experience of working with people with a learning disability, significant post-qualifying experience, and experience of leadership.
A motivated approach, a demonstrable belief in the value of Occupational Therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary approach, and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role are also essential.
