Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at the International Society for Industrial Ecology.

The role involves working on building and improving environmental impact assessment models using Python, as well as integrating these models with existing tools used by farmers and food companies.

This project aims to reduce the environmental impacts of the global agricultural system through science, data, and technology. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping us achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain environmental models written in Python.
  • Support other software needs across the Hestia stack in Python.
  • Build reliable and resilient software.
  • Anticipate scalability and performance issues.
  • Ensure code quality through tests, adhering to good practices.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Python.
  • Experience with environmental modelling (particularly using Life Cycle Assessment) or a strong desire to develop industry-leading knowledge in this area during the project.
