We are seeking an innovative and commercially astute individual to join our team as a Physical Security Assurance Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to visualise and implement customer needs, working in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity and adaptability are key. As a member of our team, you will be part of a small group of discipline-specific managers, responsible for ensuring effective management arrangements for GPA client departments in respect of physical security and building-related security management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the GPA Head of Security and/or the Operational Security Manager in designing, developing, implementing, and managing security policies and processes across client departments.
  2. Provide on-site advice on physical security matters, including incident management investigations.
  3. Work with client departments to develop their understanding of their roles and responsibilities in relation to physical security compliance.
  4. Conduct physical security assessments and inspections across the GPA estate, providing practical advice to client departments and stakeholders on vulnerabilities, near misses, risks, and issues.
  5. Identify effective corrective actions to mitigate or repair physical security weaknesses.
  6. Liaise directly with stakeholders, client departments, and facilities management partners/suppliers to review security-related documentation, ensuring compliance with HMG physical security policies and standards.
  7. Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
  8. Attend internal customer and supplier security meetings and forums as required.

Experience & Technical Skills
  1. Experience in conducting security/compliance assessments/audits.
  2. Experience of working in a multi-client service organisation.
  3. The ability to interpret and understand business needs of clients to build positive relationships.
  4. Working collaboratively in a small team environment and in a positive manner to build trust and rapport across the GPA.
  5. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to gain support for initiatives and to enable solution implementation.
  6. To work autonomously, prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines (both internal and external) and communicating progress wherever necessary.
  7. Competent in the management of clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
  8. Conversant with IT systems and the ability to analyse management information to inform decision making.
  9. Practical experience in negotiation skills that have achieved positive outcomes.
  10. Commitment to continuous improvement.
