Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at an industry leading manufacturer in Plymouth. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work on special purpose built machinery.
  2. Identify repeat problems and assist in corrective actions to remove the cause.
  3. Fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, steam and robotic machinery.
  4. Respond to machinery breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  5. Ensure PPM activities are carried out within scheduled times.
  6. Implement and support TPM/PPM across the site.
  7. Assist with machinery moves and work with the production team to install new machinery, commission and decommission new machinery.
  8. Liaise with external contractors as required.
  9. Meet individual KPl's and be aware of hazards around the site, identifying and supporting the removal of hazards.
  10. Conduct risk assessments prior to work and reassess if changes occur during the task.
  11. Champion Health and Safety, ensuring a safe workplace for all staff.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in planned and reactive maintenance.
  3. Excellent problem solving skills, fault-finding and diagnostic skills, and awareness of health and safety regulations.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  5. Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings.
