The successful candidate for this role will have the unique opportunity to enhance the resilience of Thames Water's network of underground assets within water delivery to our customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Take accountability for governance compliance and internal/external stakeholder engagement throughout the project's lifecycle, leading to a smooth transition into operational business.
  • Support the definition of solutions to meet the project objectives and be responsible for preparing a clear business case.
  • Develop the best procurement strategy for the project and oversee the specifications and production of contract documentation.
  • Develop a strategy for obtaining any required third-party consents, highlighting program and project risks relating to the consents required.
  • Effective liaison with the relevant town planning authorities and critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
  • Manage and ensure the performance of consultants and contractors to deliver timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Contribute to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
  • Commercially manage all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.

This is a hybrid role based at Maple Lodge, requiring on-site presence 2-3 days a week, with a 36-hour workweek from Monday to Friday. A driver's license and willingness to use a company-provided car allowance are desirable.

Requirements

  • An engineering or other relevant degree or qualification, combined with a business or project management qualification.
  • Knowledge of the construction, infrastructure, or utility industry, including prior involvement in delivering major complex projects (up to £100m in value) within a regulated infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrate capability with risk-based and analytical decision-making.
