About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Ecologist to join our Manchester office as an Ecological Project Coordinator. As part of our North Ecology Practice, you will be responsible for assisting on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.

You will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertake stakeholder engagement. Planning and undertaking field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results, assisting in designing and coordinating ecological mitigation, and authoring ecological reports and licence applications are all key aspects of this role.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting on nationally significant infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
  • Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement.
  • Planning and undertaking field surveys; analysing and interpreting survey results.
  • Assisting in designing and co-ordinating ecological mitigation.
  • Authoring a range of ecological reports and licence applications.

About You

Ideally, you would have the following qualifications/experience:

  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), AtkinsRéalis to cover membership costs.
  • A degree in ecology or a closely related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrable project management experience including technical, financial and/or quality assurance aspects.
  • Strong botanical skills, including Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC), or demonstrable botanical ability matching this level (desirable but not essential).
