About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Nursing Assistant to join our team at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. As a key member of our patient care journey, you will take great pride in delivering high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the nursing team in delivering excellent patient care, working collaboratively with registered practitioners and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the efficient running of theatres, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered to patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and other members of the healthcare team, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
  • Participate in the Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants, developing your knowledge and skills to progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.
Requirements
  • Completed the National Care Certificate if relevant.
  • Level 3 Vocational Qualification (NVQ or Apprenticeship) in clinical healthcare.
  • Able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skill, and competency to undertake band 3 clinical skills.
  • Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English or education equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a theatre environment, undertaking a wide range of clinical commitments.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control and Safeguarding processes.
