About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Religious Education specialist to join our growing school community and lead our vibrant RE department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the RE curriculum from the ground floor, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of religious beliefs and values in students of all backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a dedicated team of RE teachers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality RE lessons across all year groups.
  • Oversee the ongoing development of the RE curriculum, aligning it with the school's vision, national curriculum requirements, and fostering a culture of religious literacy.
  • Deliver inspiring and engaging RE lessons that promote critical thinking, empathy, and respect for diverse religious beliefs and practices.
  • Build strong relationships with students, encouraging their intellectual curiosity and fostering a safe space for open and respectful dialogue about religion.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, promoting interfaith understanding and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified and experienced RE teacher with a proven track record of leadership and success in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent subject knowledge combined with a passion for fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of religious beliefs and values.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to develop engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A visionary leader with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of RE teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive departmental environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
