Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled nurse leader to join our team as a Senior Nurse Leader in the Unplanned Care Division. As a key member of our divisional management team, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to our wards and departments, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care to our patients.

You will have day-to-day professional and managerial responsibility for the wards under your auspices, supporting and providing assurance to the Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing and Divisional Management Team on the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care. You will also deputise for the Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing as required.

As a Senior Nurse Leader, you will provide expert professional leadership, informed, objective, and pragmatic nursing advice to the ward team and the Divisional senior team, ensuring there are robust systems and monitoring in place to support all matters relating to patient care and experience.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Provide regular updates to the Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing and Divisional Team about the performance of the services covered by this role.
  • Review workforce requirements with stakeholders and support the recruitment and retention, training, and development of staff to create innovative ways to deliver care.
  • Support the planning and management of resources together with line managers to deliver the best possible healthcare within the available resources.
  • Work with key stakeholders to actively support the implementation of a Trust-wide system for various areas, including Mental Health Capacity Act, Patient Safety Benchmarking, Patient Experience Measures, Productive Ward/Productive Theatre, and other areas detailed in the job description.
