Job Title: Operations Associate - Global Hedge Fund Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Operations Associate to play a pivotal role in our global Operations team for a leading Hedge Fund. This is a hands-on position suited for someone with buy-side or sell-side experience, strong exposure to macro products, and a proven track record in process improvement and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- High-Impact Support: Provide crucial, high-value operational support to Portfolio Managers (PMs) and Execution desks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Operational Control: Take ownership of daily tasks such as trade reconciliations, aged trade monitoring, and settlement confirmations. Ensure flawless execution while mitigating risk and handling any discrepancies.
- Collaborative Role: Work seamlessly with external counter-parties, prime brokers, fund administrators, and internal teams to confirm and settle trades efficiently. Maintain smooth operations by swiftly resolving discrepancies and breaks.
- Process Improvement: Lead the charge in streamlining existing processes and implementing new, efficient work-flows to optimise the trade lifecycle, improving speed, accuracy, and robustness.
- Liaison Role: Act as the primary connection between prime brokers, fund administrators, and internal departments, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of trade issues.
- Professional Growth: Expand your expertise and grow within the Operations team by leveraging the latest products and technologies. Take ownership of your professional development and contribute to the innovation within the team.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: At least 4+ years of middle office experience, preferably in a hedge fund or sell-side firm.
- Product Knowledge: Strong familiarity with macro products, including Fixed Income, OTC derivatives, FX, FX Options, and Equity/CFDs.
- Process Innovator: Proven experience in streamlining processes and leading efficiency improvements.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel, VBA, and other relevant technologies.
- Team Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented, organised, and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Ethics & Integrity: A strong commitment to ethical standards and operational excellence.
