Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement behaviour management strategies and create a positive learning environment.
  • Offer tailored support to students in and out of the classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and encouraging positive social interactions.
  • Work closely with educational psychologists, social workers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Track and report on student progress, contributing to reviews and assessments to support their educational and personal development.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational or similar setting.
  • Understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanour to manage challenging situations sensitively.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to the school community.
