We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at White & Clayton Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our health and safety initiatives across Scotland, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety Leadership: Serve as the expert on health and safety matters in Scotland, overseeing employer liability claims, and acting as the primary contact for enforcement bodies and response services.
- Safety Culture Development: Drive the continuous development and enhancement of safety and environmental management systems at our sites, implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to minimize accident rates and improve environmental performance.
- Compliance and Governance: Develop and uphold UK safety standards across our sites, maintaining regular communication with group functions, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular audits and inspections of our sites in collaboration with management and employee representatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Ensure appropriate budgeting for health and safety requirements within the overall site budget, allocating resources effectively to support health and safety initiatives.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in a management or Head of SHE role within the food manufacturing industry, working closely with senior functional leaders.
- Health and Safety Expertise: Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, with a demonstrated history of implementing and maintaining compliance processes.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in best practices and industry standards, with the ability to leverage industry-wide best practices.
- Environmental Sustainability: Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability practices, with the capability to adopt and implement them effectively.
- Stakeholder Management: Familiarity with the workings of local government departments and the ability to proactively build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Qualifications: NEBOSH and health and safety qualifications.
- Agility and Flexibility: Demonstrated agility in thinking and behavior, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
- People Management: Experience in people management, including the development of individuals.
