We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team at Baxendale Mason Ltd in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a dynamic and innovative kitchen and contribute to a creative and seasonal menu.

Job Details:

  • Full-time, Contract
  • 4 days on, 3 days off
  • 2 weeks off at Christmas
  • 2 weeks off in July
  • 1 week off for Easter

As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of goods, following traditional and modern recipes. You will also create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of goods, following traditional and modern recipes
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • Organising and leadership skills
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless etc.)
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
