Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Band 6)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Clinical Operations team at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist patient-centred assessment and treatment for individuals with complex neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with complex physical, cognitive, and communicative needs, prioritizing effectively to reduce risk and manage disability or rehabilitation needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating excellent joint working and communication to achieve patient-centred goals.
  • Participate in MDT assessment and provision of a 24-hour postural management programme, including assessment and provision of splints, participation in assessment of seating and bed positioning.
  • Provide specialist patient-centred assessment and treatment for a complex neurological clinical caseload, including assessment and treatment of patients with degenerative or progressive conditions.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Diploma/degree/masters degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by RCOT & HCPC.
  • Member of BAOT/College of Occupational Therapists.
  • An interest in the clinical management of severe neuro-disability.
  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding of the role and need of evidence-based practice.
  • A working knowledge of physical assessment of complex neuro presentations.
  • A good understanding of long-term neurological conditions.

  • An interest in postural management and splinting.
