About the Trade Remedies Authority

Introduction

The Department for Business and Trade is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) Board as a Non-Executive Director.

The TRA plays a critical role in the UK's independent trade remedies system, ensuring domestic industries have a safety net to protect them against injury caused by unfair trading practices and unforeseen surges in imports.

The appointed NED will have substantial responsibilities to provide challenge to the Board and hold the Executive team to account for delivery, including the effective conduct of trade remedies investigations and recommending fair and objective trade remedies measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide challenge to the Board and hold the Executive team to account for delivery
  • Conduct trade remedies investigations and recommend fair and objective trade remedies measures
  • Ensure the effective operation of the TRA's trade remedies system
