About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a leading public sector organisation based in Edinburgh to recruit a Finance Systems Accountant for their office in Edinburgh.

This role will provide a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to shape the current system's changes within the organisation, leveraging their expertise to drive process improvements and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Systems Process Implementation: Facilitate the implementation of financial systems process changes and enhancements, ensuring effective execution and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and suggest enhancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Daily Systems Support: Provide daily systems support, including access management, chart of accounts maintenance, and month-end processes, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Risk Management: Utilise risk management systems to manage and mitigate risks, ensuring the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and address their concerns and issues, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.

This role will also provide exposure to multiple internal projects, offering a high level of variety and challenge for the successful candidate.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar position, possess the ability to learn about new systems and processes, and be comfortable dealing with multiple internal stakeholders.
