Geotechnical Professor

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Geotechnical Engineering Group at the University of Sheffield as a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering. The successful applicant will be a research leader in geotechnical engineering with a strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration.

As a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering, you will contribute to positioning the group at the forefront of geotechnical research, innovation, and impact, nationally and internationally. You will work closely with colleagues in the Geotechnical Engineering Group and leverage our substantial laboratory facilities to deliver high-quality research and teaching.

• Conduct and lead research in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
• Teach and develop a high-quality geotechnical syllabus, integrating climate change challenges, digitalisation, and multi-disciplinary working.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of research projects, with a focus on impact and innovation.
• Supervise and mentor PhD students and early career researchers.
