Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager/Principal Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager/Principal Consultant to join our team in the development of Geological Disposal Facilities (GDF) in the UK and worldwide. This role will provide technical leadership and integration leadership to support our clients in the development of disposal concept designs for High Heat Generating Waste (HHGW).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project-specific multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated pre-conceptual and/or conceptual engineering solutions for radioactive waste disposal systems.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, either as main author or lead/coordinating author.
  • Scope work packages to enable procurement and subsequent delivery of the work from a programme and commercial perspective.
  • Work with Programme Managers, Project Managers, and Line Managers to technically steer and oversee team resources in establishing project goals, defining technical objectives, and enabling project delivery to cost, time, and quality.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (or equivalent).
  • Relevant professional experience (ideally in the nuclear industry) demonstrating leadership of multidisciplinary projects, with an emphasis on conceptual development of engineering solutions.
  • High proficiency with engineering principles and their application to the design of complex systems (system engineering, including requirements management).
  • Well-developed project management and commercial skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, demonstrated by contributions to high-standard industry reports.
