About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Apprentice to join our Water Engineering team at AECOM. As an Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of cable calculations, cable schedules, and circuit schedules
  • Contribute to the production of lighting designs
  • Support the production of MCC/ Control Panel details, including ICA information
  • Assist in the production of electrical specification documents
  • Utilize Amtech, Dialux, and Lighting Reality software design programs
  • Liaise with internal and external design teams, clients, and contractors as appropriate
  • Provide timely reporting to both the client and internal team lead
About the Team

Our Water Engineering team supports clients with the management of their assets, encompassing everything from designing complete new build treatments works to assessing the condition of existing plant and machinery. We play an important role in helping our clients develop new assets or improvements to existing, offering both improved performance and efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 'C/4' or above, including Mathematics & English
  • Three A-Levels (or equivalent such as a BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) including Maths and a physical science at grade 'C' or above
  • Some work experience or shadowing in an engineering environment would be an advantage
  • Demonstrate an interest and a desire to pursue a career in Water Engineering
  • Show an aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing, e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other similar 3D software
  • Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities
  • Creative, practical, adaptable, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan, and organize parts of projects
  • English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings, and reports
