Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to lead our Property Health and Safety team. As a key member of our Property function, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our colleagues, contractors, and customers across all RIBA stages.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Lead Health and Safety Risk Management: Develop and implement effective health and safety risk management strategies and frameworks to mitigate potential hazards and risks.
- Manage Health and Safety Systems: Oversee the development and implementation of health and safety management systems to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Reporting and Governance: Provide regular reports to senior management on health and safety performance and compliance, and participate in relevant governance forums.
- Contractor and Colleague Engagement: Ensure that contractors and colleagues understand and comply with health and safety policies and procedures, and provide training and guidance as needed.
- Incident Investigation and Management: Investigate and manage incidents, near misses, and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Health and Safety Reviews: Conduct regular health and safety reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Statistical Analysis: Analyze health and safety statistical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide guidance and support to colleagues to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely.
- Professional Qualifications: Member of a relevant professional organization and undertaking continuing professional development (CPD).
- Health and Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of health and safety management systems, including fire safety.
- Legislative Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of health and safety and related legislation and its requirements.
- Landlord Requirements: Knowledge of the health and safety requirements of landlords and how these work in practice.
- Communication and Engagement: Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills to influence business decisions and drive health and safety improvements.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to produce management information and identify areas for improvement.
- Coaching and Development: Ability to coach and develop colleagues to drive performance improvement and health and safety awareness.
- Business Acumen: Ability to engage with colleagues at all levels to drive health and safety improvements and influence business decisions.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and prioritize risks, and develop effective risk management strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Tenacity to follow up and resolve issues, and ability to investigate and manage incidents effectively.
- Statistical Analysis: Ability to analyze health and safety statistical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
