Job Summary

RSM has an exciting opportunity for an Audit Partner to join our Asset Management practice in California. As a key member of our Financial Services team, you will be responsible for leading audits of financial services clients, managing multiple engagements, and overseeing engagement status to ensure timely completion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead audits of financial services clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GAAS regulations.
  • Manage multiple engagements, overseeing engagement status and ensuring timely completion.
  • Identify technical accounting matters early and assess impact on financial statements, coordinating with firm specialists as needed.
  • Review work product and communicate audit status to clients periodically, assessing resources needed for project completion.
  • Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to develop deeper relationships and understand client goals and strategies.
  • Manage profitability of projects, evaluating strategy for growth of the Firm.
  • Assess risk and design audit procedures to engagement teams.
  • Develop a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence to effectuate business growth.
  • Provide insightful business advice and present oneself as a trusted business advisor.
  • Understand skillsets and capabilities of team members and monitor and review work product, articulating coaching notes throughout the process.
  • Develop others within the Firm through facilitating levels-based or industry training, advising on career development, or participating in other Firm initiatives.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as they arise.
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments affecting GAAP and the Firm's standards and policies.
Requirements
  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree.
  • CPA Certification.
  • 12+ years of current or recent audit experience in a public accounting environment with a focus in auditing financial services clients.
  • 8+ years' experience auditing companies and related organizations in Financial Services, Asset Management, Banking, Specialty Finance, or Fintech.
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • A successful record of directing and deploying team members on multiple simultaneous engagements.
  • Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and FASB regulations.
