Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our team in Coventry. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient running of the warehouse shift, focusing on agency colleagues while also supporting the Co-op team where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the shift manager with any changes to hours required on shift.
  • Access live reports in relation to performance and breaks and escalate any issues or concerns to the Co-op on-shift manager.
  • Develop a teamwork ethos within the crew to ensure the team feels safe and enjoys working at Co-op.
  • Lead the team to work productively through coaching, supporting, and sharing best practice to meet required targets and maintain efficiency.
  • Support new workers during their probation to highlight any additional training requirements.
  • Be proactive with problem-solving and highlight any areas that could be having a negative impact on the shift.
  • Complete New Starter 'One to One' meetings and ensure a weekly informal check-in with Agency Workers during their learning curve to ensure their performance and development are on track.
  • Holding meetings with Agency workers, including new starter reviews, informal reviews, disciplinaries, and performance reviews.
  • Manage performance by reviewing it every 2 hours and complete any required actions.
  • Actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives on site, including Pristine behavioral checks, MHE Pit stops, and Rumbles.
  • Accident reporting and supporting Co-op with any associated paperwork required for investigations.
  • Manage congestion by working in collaboration with the Co-op warehouse service team and shift managers/duty managers to ensure operating procedures provide a service the customer requires.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in a warehouse or operations environment.
  • Ability to manage performance and provide coaching and support to team members.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and protocols.
