Clinical Pharmacist

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated pharmacist to join our team as a Band 6-7 Progressive Clinical Pharmacist. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, with a focus on clinical rotations and development.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical rotations, including medicine, neurosciences, surgery, critical care, cardiovascular and thoracics, microbiology, oncology, children's services, and diabetes and endocrinology. These rotations will provide the opportunity to gain experience in a range of clinical areas, develop clinical skills, and work with specialist and consultant pharmacists.
In addition to clinical rotations, the pharmacist will also have the opportunity to develop management and leadership skills, working with the Lead Pharmacist Operation and Supply Services to develop evidence for advanced practice competencies.
The role will also involve providing support to trainee pharmacists, participating in extended hours, including late nights and weekend dispensary support, and contributing to the development of guidelines and audit work.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Pharmacy or a relevant equivalent qualification, be registered as a pharmacist with the GPhC, and have sound knowledge of a surgical or medical speciality acquired by working within a suitable speciality. They will also have experience at post-registration level, including dispensary and clinical pharmacy services, and strong exposure to clinical pharmacy and experience in pharmaceutical intervention at both dispensary and ward level.
The successful candidate will also have strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
