Commercial Accountant/Finance Business Partner

Our client, a well-established, multi-national business, is seeking a Commercial Accountant/Finance Business Partner to join their Commercial Finance team based in Thame. This role will provide financial expertise and support to the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the renewal/creation of budgets for clients.
  • Coordinate and review client reconciliations (client budget v cost incurred).
  • Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring revenue recognition is in line with ASC 606, investigating variances & reporting monthly results to business partners.
  • Own balance sheet and project ledger reconciliations for your account portfolio.
  • Deliver the internal plan, quarterly and ad-hoc forecasts in partnership with Client Service Directors (CSD).
  • Invoice for client activity and monthly review with business partners of outstanding debt & unbilled production.
  • Monthly meetings with CSD's to drive our Finance agenda & optimise financial metrics.
  • General business partnering, ad-hoc analysis & supporting business projects/initiatives.
  • Undertake analysis and reporting of accounting information for business units, helping the operational manager & client director understand their cost base. Look for areas of improved profitability through cost reduction or better pricing.
  • Review forecast consistency of financial data driven by business assumptions and rate cards.

Suitable candidates should ideally be part-qualified, and have previous experience in a similar Commercial Finance role. You should be analytically minded, have good attention to detail and be a team player. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate efficiently. Strong database management, systems and Excel skills are important.

In return, our client is offering a salary £35,000-£43,000 (depending on your experience) hybrid working, good benefits which include private medical. There would potentially be a study support package for those looking to progress in Finance.
