Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Art Expert to join our team at Tencent Games' Venture Lab. As a key member of our advisory services team, you will work closely with studio developers to provide technical-art-related guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with minority stake portfolio companies to understand their artistic direction and technical art challenges.
  • Collaborate with studio teams to establish, elevate, and maintain artistic quality through best practices and standards.
  • Develop and refine shaders, tools, and pipelines to improve content creation and asset integration.

As a Technical Art Expert, you will be responsible for advising and assisting studios in the creation of productized tools and workflows. You will also develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of graphics and art technologies to leverage opportunities for portfolio studios.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience as a Technical Art Director or equivalent role.
  • Leadership experience in setting strategic direction and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to partner and advise effectively.
  • Inquisitive mind with understanding of latest graphics technology and research trends.
  • Solid technical art ability with scripting skills, knowledge of DCC packages, and experience with Unreal Engine.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
