About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Acute Care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and ensure timely communication and care planning with Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs).
  • Work collaboratively with CMHTs to ensure continuity of care and robust discharge planning.
  • Provide medical oversight of admissions and discharges, including handovers of consultant responsibility.
  • Supervise junior doctors and provide training and development opportunities.

Person Specification

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Welsh AC Approval.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT.
