About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Heat Decarbonisation Programme. As a key member of our Climate Emergency Unit, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering our response to the climate emergency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement projects and solutions to decarbonise heat, working with colleagues across the Council and external partners.
  • Lead substantial projects and programmes, assessing commercial delivery models and engaging stakeholders.
  • Advise senior officers and councillors on heat decarbonisation strategies and policies.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of heat decarbonisation technologies, including heat pumps and heat networks.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver clean energy and net zero carbon emissions for our residents.
Requirements
  • Passion for energy and climate issues, with good knowledge and understanding of heat decarbonisation.
  • Ability to lead substantial projects and programmes, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience of working with senior officers and councillors.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, with a willingness to learn and develop.
