Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
  • Complete service and inspection records, defect reports, and associated paperwork to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass.
  • Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, ensuring the correct and effective use of tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform any other duties deemed reasonable by management.

Requirements

  • Fully skilled with applicable licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license).
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driving license and previous experience in a similar role.
