Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety and sustainability across our business. You will work closely with our operational teams to identify and mitigate risks, develop and implement safety protocols, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Provide safety coaching, advice, and support to our operational teams to improve safety outcomes and culture.
  • Lead by example and uphold high standards of safety and sustainability in all aspects of our business.
  • Conduct risk assessments, accident/incident investigations, and share best practice initiatives to improve safety and sustainability.
  • Identify areas of weakness and develop improvement plans to enhance safety and sustainability.
  • Remain competent in health and safety legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Train and influence operational teams to adopt safe working practices and promote sustainability.
  • Analyze performance trends to develop response plans to improve safety and sustainability.
  • Support JDP's sustainability ambitions and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions.

Requirements

We're looking for a self-starter with strong communication and engagement skills, who can coach effectively and motivate others to adopt safe working practices. You will preferably have a Health, Safety, and Environment qualification or equivalent experience. Multi-site experience is desirable but not essential. You will come to us with practical experience of undertaking accident/incident investigations, reviewing risk assessments, and proactively working towards continuous improvement initiatives. You will have to be thorough with good attention to detail.
