This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others. As a Peer Support Worker, you will be working directly with service users on a one-to-one and/or group basis, using your own experiences to empower them to take control of their lives and work towards recovery.
The salary for this role is £29,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you have lived experience of mental health difficulties and are passionate about supporting others, we encourage you to apply.
Main Responsibilities
- Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy, and hopefulness via the telling of own recovery journey to inspire and install confidence in peers.
- Support other members of the multi-disciplinary team in promoting a recovery-oriented environment and identifying recovery-focused activities facilitating the sharing of information/education as required.
- Empower service users to take greater control and responsibility over their own care and successfully achieve their personal goals.
Requirements
- Demonstrate an understanding of what Peer Support work is.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of personal recovery.
- Evidence of good interpersonal skills and an ability to form peer relationships with service users and carers.
